Labor Day Weekend -- Merrick's Birthday

We had a great Labor Day Weekend. On Saturday, we went over to my parents’ house to kick off the college football season and see Cameron and Kelda, who were visiting from Arizona. Everybody was happy about the college football games. My UCLA Bruins were able to win their first game of the season, and BYU (the university of Dustin, Dad, Mom, and Chelsea) upset the number three ranked team.

On Sunday, we went to Stacy’s mom’s house in Camarillo for a BBQ. Stacy’s sister and her family from Whittier were there, so it was great that they got to see Link. The kids had a great time playing in the humongous jolly-jump and throwing water balloons. The adults enjoyed the great tri-tip.

On Monday, we celebrated Merrick’s birthday at my parents’ house in Oak Park. I felt it was a successful party. It was Star Wars’ themed, but mostly Darth Vader themed—Merrick loves Darth Vader, who coincidentally is my favorite character. We had a life sized cutout of Vader, a Vader piñata, Vader decorations, Vader lightsabers, and Vader cake. We also had Star Wars trivia. Dustin was the winner, after beating Brian in the tiebreaker question. My Dad cooked-up some great hamburgers and hot dogs. Even after all of these events, there was time for swimming. Thank you everyone that made it to the party and all of the great presents. Merrick is busy with all of his new toys. After the party, there was a late night Ping-Pong tournament (10:00 P.M) at the Thousand Oaks office. The winner of the tournament was Doug.

On Tuesday, Reagan had her first day of preschool. We also celebrated Merrick’s real birthday at home with a cake. The Fenn’s also got Link some cool Zelda themed baby clothes that I love—had to post a picture.
